About Me

Purpose:

I am a young, aspiring molecular biologist, working towards my Ph.D. Things happen in the lab that don’t seem to happen to people in other professions. I’m here to document these happenings for comic relief. If you have your own experiences that you’d like to share, please submit your post!

I have also made this blog to answer the questions of young, aspiring scientists, whether it be a homework question or a career/professional question, please ask me!

My Story:

As I mentioned above, I am a molecular biologist, currently working towards my Ph.D. My specific research interests include neuropsychiatry, behavioral neuroscience, retrovirology, neurobiology, biopsychology, toxicology, psychopharmacology, organic biosynthesis, and several other subdisciplines of molecular biology.

I want to become a behavioral neuroscientist to study the molecular mechanisms that cause psychiatric disorders, specifically depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. I have personal experience with bipolar depression, which is my main driving factor for entering this field of study. I want to elucidate the mysteries of neuropsychiatric disorders so that we can better treat patients. Psychopharmacological treatments are rudimentary, at best, and are pretty medieval. I want to work towards changing that.

I choose to stay anonymous, for various reasons, particularly so that I can be open, honest, and unbiased.
